There’s a lot of Koh Tao activities to keep every kind of visitor or holiday maker totally entertained. Here we look at our top 5 Koh Tao activities not to be missed out on. Maybe you believed that Koh Tao was just for scuba diving with nothing else more to do – well you’re mistaken. There is a magnitude of other Koh Tao activities, whether you prefer things at a leisurely speed or prefer taking things to the extreme. As we all know scuba diving is the most popular of all the activities on Koh Tao so we have excluded this from our list.

An excellent way to explore the various beaches and gorgeous bays around Koh Tao is by renting a kayak for the day. The calm waters around Koh Tao are ideal for cruising around the island at your leisure and rocking up at where ever takes your fancy. Snorkelling is another popular and budget plan friendly activity. The waters here host a vast variety of different corals and marine life, making snorkelling a well deserved mention in our top 5 Koh tao activities.

A couple of good suggestions for snorkelling right off the beach are Ao Thian, where you will experience reef sharks, and Tanote Bay, where you can rent a kayak to take you out to the neighbouring reef. Mango Bay on the North coast is likewise an outstanding option, as it has a wealth of marine life in only 10m of water. Even turtles can often be spotted here. Sairee Beach on the West coast also offers good snorkelling opportunities.

There many tracks up the mountains or through the thick tropical jungle to cleanings with an awesome variety of wildlife and surroundings en route. If you enjoy hiking then there are some great routes – like John Suwan Mountain Viewpoint. 2 Views in the centre of the island is also worth looking at. Another great hike to is Thian Og Bay. Boat Tours

Finally, boat tours are a fantastic option from our top 5 Koh tao activities for families, couples and singles alike. Boat trips are available everyday on the island. They can take you to Koh Nang Yuan Island or the stunning collection of islands that make up Angthong National Marine Park. Also, pickup from your resort or hotel is frequently included, as is lunch, beverages and snorkelling equipment.
